Opening Day!

  • Moon-Randolph Homestead 1515 Spurlock Road Missoula, MT, 59802 United States (map)

As the hills flush with green and flowers reveal themselves once again, the land reminds us of opportunities to begin anew. In two weeks time, visitors will walk over the hills and drive up the lane to this “off-beat oasis” less than two miles from downtown Missoula. Pink blossoms will unfurl in on ancient apple trees as families unfurl picnic blankets in their shade. Someone will lie in the hammock long enough to remember the simple joy of watching clouds change shape as they move slowly across the sky. Elders will recount stories from their youth, inspired by an encounter with some object now considered an artifact. Children will race down slopes, only pausing to present the chickens with gifts of weeds. Volunteers will give tours and mend fences. Workshop participants will learn to blacksmith and make biochar. Whether you join us for a workshop or event, as a visitor or a volunteer, we hope to see you.

Bring a picnic and join us on opening day!
