The Fall Gathering

This September 22nd, celebrate the full harvest moon and another season gone by at the Moon-Randolph Homestead’s 18th Annual Fall Gathering. Join us for a harvest feast, cider and beer, apple pressing, live music from Scrapyard Lullaby and Westfork Music, and dancing under a full harvest moon. Family friendly. The Fall Gathering is our largest event and fundraiser of the year, supporting our efforts exploring and celebrating Missoula’s human, ecological, and agricultural history. All proceeds benefit the Moon-Randolph Homestead. No dogs, please.

Parking for those arriving by automobile will be along Spurlock Road. Please park only on the right (south) side of the road to allow local vehicles to pass. Walk up the road to the Homestead or wait for a Missoula Parks & Recreation shuttle to pick you up. Bicycle parking at the Homestead.


Hiking to the Homestead:

We encourage those who are able to arrive via trail from Missoula’s North Hills Open Space Trails. You can access the Homestead via the Froelich, Mountain View, Sunlight, and Waterworks Hill trailheads. See this map to plan your route.

This year's Fall Gathering feast will be made up of fresh, local food from various restaurants and businesses around Missoula. Notorious PIG will be barbecuing pork for our main dish, with pork sourced from Notorious PIG, Take It or Leave It—Food Truck of Lower Crossing Farm, and Western Montana Growers Coop. Side dishes will be cole slaw from Burns St. Bistro, vegetarian bean salad from Redbird Restaurant, pasta salad from Scotty's Table, salad from Clark Fork Organics, and salad dressing from Caffe Dolce. We'll round out the meal with slider buns from Le Petit Outre, and pies from Bernice's and community members!  


The Fall Gathering is the largest community event and fundraiser hosted by the Homestead, with over 300 people in attendance. If you would like to become a sponsor or donate to the event, email the caretakers at

Summer Squares: Square Dance!

This summer, kick up the old time dust at Summer Squares, a summertime square dance series, hosted by Western Cider and the Moon-Randolph Homestead. Dance away a late summer evening at this traditional and easygoing community square dance. The dance will feature a caller and live old time music by the The Beet Tops. Callers will teach you everything you need to know—no experience necessary. Beginners and young folk welcome all night. Dance is FREE and open to the public.
